Fall Planting
Warm soil temperatures and cooler days give new plantings the chance to get established before they go dormant in the winter. After the top of a plant has gone dormant, the roots continue to grow in the relatively warm soils. It is truly amazing how much new growth the roots produce in October and November. These fall plantings can then start rooting out even more next spring before the stress of summer’s heat. Fall is the best time to plant most trees and shrubs. While other garden centers are trying to get rid of their leftover spring plants, we are bringing in our fall crop of fresh new trees and shrubs that were grown just for this wonderful fall planting season.
We have a great selection of fresh healthy trees and shrubs, beautiful cold hardy pansies, ornamental peppers, kale and mums. We also have the best fall fertilizers for your lawn, soil amendments and the very best weed-free grass seed. We carry a great selection of fall bulbs in a rainbow of colors. At Stone Creek Nursery, we know fall is for planting.
